Coore and Crenshaw found golf holes in Nebraska's natural dunes with remarkably little earthmoving. The land's ripples and wind do much of the design work.
The course's minimalist construction helped inspire a generation of architects to look for natural golf terrain. The dunes, not heavy shaping, supply much of the challenge.
